Chris and Narzm take Nomads to victory
On a beautiful sunny and warm day James won the toss and elected to field. Chingford lost an early wicket at 17 but Jedrant and Noor added 41 before the next wicket fell whereupon Chingford suffered a mini collapse losing 4 more wickets for the addition of 10 runs. Veteran Mike Blake then steadied the innings at one end while two more wickets fell and then Chaudhry and Singh batted sensibly to take the innings to 171-8 dec off 56 overs. Chris Royals was the pick of the Nomads bowlers with a fifer and skipper James took two catches.
In reply Nomads started promisingly as Nigel Bloch hit the first ball for 4 only to be out next ball. Narzm and Stu then added 75 for the next wicket .Injured Arnav had to retire and the next three were dismissed cheaply however Narzm was cruising along and had reached 97 when he was stumped with the Nomads score 160. Mark Richards and James Coyne then saw Nomads home to a four wicket win.
Most of batters on both sides struggled to adjust to the soft and slow pitch so Narzm’s knock was a very good one indeed.
This was a Nomads team of youth and experience which blended well on the day and enjoyed agood few drinks post match.
